Why brain, why??

I currently have so *much* on my writing to-do, including things I'm writing for other people... so why will the BSG/SPN wherein Dean is a disciplined Viper pilot stuck on the Galactica during the decomissioning when everything goes down. He thinks he's lost his whole family but maybe *someone* survived in the Fleet... crossover not leave my brain?

Sometimes when this happens, my brain won't let me write anything else until I've purged myself of the random story idea.

Aargh.

------

After everything.

After they survive the initial jump and leave behind the ships without FTL drives. After they start to run and everyone has a chance to breathe again.

After, after, after.

This is when people start dealing with the loss. The numbers so great that they have to count survivors rather than dead. It is at this point that Dean Winchester finds himself standing in the corridor of the Galactica that is cordoned off from general traffic, looking at the hundreds of photos with one of his own in his hand.

"Demon," Starbuck says gently from near the hatch. "We have to go."

Dean looks down at the photo he's holding, not wanting to tack it up amongst the others, not wanting to make his own personal loss so... final. His parents and Sammy at Sammy's graduation. His big dork of a little brother, dressed in dark green and grey robes. Smiling like his whole future is out in front of him.

"Demon," Starbuck says again but when he cuts his eyes to her she's looking away, giving him his moment. Dean leans up on his toes, finds a high place to put his picture because he doesn't want anyone else to touch it. It's important for some reason. His eyes catch on the goofy grin his brother's wearing and he has trouble ripping them away.

There's a tentative touch to his shoulder that allows him to finally do it.
