Whatever John does, both his sons end up thinking he doesn't care about them. I love that that didn't change in this universe - another decision we might think was better turns out to be just as wrong. I love this exploration of Sam and Bobby's relationship and my heart aches for the brothers. Really, this is worse because they didn't have each other. Gorgeous plotting and lovely writing. I adore your characterization. I'm joining the please-write-more line. :)
