LJ; all the bingoes; of course i started something new; Aussieaussieaussieoioioi!

-> Wow, LJ is MUCH QUIETER these days. I only had to click earlier once and I was on where I was up to YESTERDAY. I'm enjoying being on tumblr but it's definitely not the same. *shuffles feet*

-> I have absolutely no willpower. I signed up for a [livejournal.com profile] longfic_bingo card. It's multifandom though and I'm pretty sure I have enough stuff jammed in the WIP folder to fill this and my trope_bingo card easily. I'll have to post them here so I can start updating IF I EVER FINISH ANYTHING EVER AGAIN. Argh.

-> Speaking of scatter-shot writing, I just wrote 2,200 words yesterday of Stiles trying to stealthily obedience train the werewolves. I'm might try and squish it into my trope_bingo card and get it done and posted in the next day or so.

-> Australia Day this weekend which means a long weekend. I usually don't really do anything special for Australia Day other than laze around at home or maybe drag myself to a BBQ but this year I'm going to be on a ferry in the harbour which should be very cool! We figured we needed to do something special since flatmates will most likely have moved back to the US this time next year.

Hooray Australia Day!

I have been trying to find my entry point into Tumblr, but when I search for discussion on episodes (what I'm in fandom for) all I find are animated GIFs, even when I click on tags. Am I not getting search right, or do people on Tumblr just stick with photos?

It's honestly more image based than anything else. There's no real discussion - sometimes there'll be a meta post but they're pretty rare. I've basically linked to a couple of rec blogs and then a bunch of people I know from LJ and I'm still wading through the same 5 gif sets each day most of the time. Heh. I tried searching through tags and it was pretty much impossible because people will tag all sorts of ways too. You can track one particular tag but you'll still end up with about 80% repetition and gifs. I have found the particular tumblrs for a couple of shows and while it's still image based, there is also news and set photos which is good.

Maybe link to a couple of people you know and are comfortable from LJ and ask for a couple of blog recs for particular fandoms to start off.

I think there's more fandom discussion on Twitter although that's the last social network thingie that I'm resisting. :)
